PlansChevron and Shell have confirmed their participation in the consortium led by YPF to build the Vaca Muerta Sur (VMOS) pipeline. The project connects shale fields in Vaca Muerta to the port of Punta Colorada in Río Negro.
The pipeline will initially handle 550,000 barrels per day and could expand to 700,000. The $3 billion infrastructure project is expected to generate up to $15 billion in annual oil export revenue for Argentina.
Their involvement underscores the global interest in Vaca Muerta, one of the world’s largest shale oil reserves, and reinforces Argentina’s position in the energy export market.
